Joint Venture Submission for the E-Scrap Challenge
Mecca Innovation & Technology, in collaboration with Tech-Recycle LLC, is proud to present our innovative solution to the E-Scrap Challenge hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy and HeroX. Together, we’re addressing the critical need for sustainable and efficient material reclamation in the electronics recycling sector.
🌐 The Problem
Current industrial-scale material reclamation processes rely heavily on incineration and chemical leaching. These methods result in significant loss of critical materials and create harmful environmental impacts. The DOE's focus on materials like the Electric 18 highlights the importance of finding new, cleaner ways to recover essential resources.
💡 The Solution: Micron-Fraction Recycling Process
Our collaborative solution led by Tech-Recycle LLC implements an environmentally and energy-efficient process that uses Micron-Fractioning principles for High-Yield Concentration for analytical separation for refining materials from e-Scrap to .999 fine. This approach eliminates the need for toxic incineration and chemical leaching, ensuring higher reclamation yields and greater purity of recovered materials.
🔄 The Impact
🏭 Manufacturers benefit from higher reclamation yields and purities, reducing the need for raw material mining.
♻ Recyclers/Refiners see lower energy consumption and emissions, cutting costs and creating more sustainable recycling processes.
🌎 Consumers benefit from positive global environmental effects and more sustainable goods that contribute to a circular economy.
This innovative recycling process is designed to support the future of e-waste reclamation while lowering the total embodied energy and reducing environmental emissions. Our partnership with Tech-Recycle LLC ensures that we are at the forefront of developing new technologies that address critical material recovery challenges.
At Mecca, we are committed to creating solutions that not only solve today’s problems but shape a more sustainable tomorrow. This joint venture is just one example of how we’re working to revolutionize material recovery in the electronics industry.
